Build & Deliver

The hardest problems in energy and infrastructure live at the intersection of disciplines. Sun Bear is built to work there, alongside the nations, enterprises, communities, and corporations we serve.
Each of the four pillars below is a discipline Sun Bear can deliver on its own. The point of our practice is that we rarely have to. The energy plan is shaped by the infrastructure timeline. The sustainability framework is shaped by the capital stack. The technology layer is what keeps all of it aligned as the work moves from feasibility to operation.
Energy is where ownership becomes visible. It is the difference between an organization paying an investor-owned utility every month and that same organization collecting revenue on its own generation, on its own land, under its own regulatory authority — whether the owner is a tribal nation, a tribal enterprise, a community, a corporation, or a sovereign government.
We plan, finance, and deliver energy systems that close that export loop — solar, storage, microgrids, and utility formation — designed so the value of every kilowatt-hour produced stays inside the organization that produced it.

The institutions we work with — tribal nations and enterprises, communities, corporations, and international partners — each carry their own definition of sustainability. Our role is to translate those values into the financial and regulatory language that capital markets, federal funders, regulators, and investors reward.
From IRA Direct Pay to community benefit agreements, from ESG disclosure to land-use planning, we build the documentation, the data infrastructure, and the partnerships that make sustainable development pencil where it otherwise would not.

Most consultants stop at the feasibility study. We design, engineer, and deliver — from interconnection through commissioning — and we structure the asset so the nation, the enterprise, the community, or the corporation holds the title at the end.
Owners-representation, construction management, and operational audits keep the project on schedule and on budget. The result is infrastructure that earns revenue from day one and reinvests it back into the organization that owns it.

Every project we deliver is wrapped in the operational systems that make it scalable — monitoring platforms, automation pipelines, financial models, and the digital infrastructure that lets a small team run a large portfolio.
We treat technology as connective tissue: the layer that turns a single solar array into a fleet, a single grant application into a repeatable funding strategy, and a single client's data into the analytical edge that informs the next decision.

Most engagements start in one pillar and expand into the others as the partnership earns its way in. A feasibility study becomes a funding strategy. A funding strategy becomes a built asset. A built asset becomes a monitored portfolio. That sequence is the engine.
